About the Institute

NIT Raipur
National Institute of Technology Raipur situated in the capital of Chhattisgarh, has proven to be "avant-grade' in the field of science and technology over past few decades in this region. With sweet memory of foundation by our first president Hon'ble Dr. Rajendra Prasad on 14th September 1956, the institute started with two departments namely Metallurgical and Mining Engineering. Later the inauguration of the Institute building was done by our first Prime Minister Hon'ble Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru on 14th March 1963. From 1st December 2005, the institute has become the National Institute of Technology. It is well connected with Mumbai, Delhi and all metro cities by regular flights and is on the main Howrah-Mumbai railway route. The institute is 5 km from the Raipur railways station and 18 km from airport on NH-6, the Great Eastern Road.

About Department of Chemical Engineering

The Chemical Engineering Department was established in the year 1962. The Department is offering undergraduate course (B.Tech in Chemical engineering) and one post-graduate course (M.Tech in Chemical Engineering). The Department has well qualified and committed faculties with Ph. D. degree. There are 13 regular and 2 temporary faculty members in the Department.  Faculty members have successfully completed 7 research projects and 11 research projects, sponsored by various funding agencies (valuing more than 1.5 crore, approx), are ongoing.

This special issue highlighting on “Advances in Chemical and Environmental Engineering (ACEE-2021)” will be the international forum/platform to bring together the researchers, faculty members, Scientist and Industrial personnel to exchange and share their experimental data and research results on various aspects of Environmental Science and Engineering focusing on topics of interest such as water and wastewater treatment and reuse, pollution prevention, developments on green chemistry, photo-electrochemical technology for water treatment. This special issue edition will also provide an overview of state-of-the-art, advancement, and challenges associated with the pertinent issues environmental biotechnology, chemistry and Engineering. Scientific and engineering aspects of novel technologies on environmental pollution will also be considered favourably. The theme of the ACEE-2021 conference, NIT Raipur also aims to inspire, explore and innovate novel technologies to research communities, promote young minds and their research abilities on environmental issues for future sustainable development. This special issue covers comprehensive topics in novel environmental technologies related to physical and/or chemical approaches and solicits submissions on integrated approaches also aiming to enhanced treatment efficiency by combining advanced treatment techniques and conventional techniques. Oxidation, reduction and separation studies are equally welcome provided they give new insights to the existing techniques.
